Roading
We begin hound exercise on horseback in late spring to early summer and encourage those who want to learn about foxhunting, and test their horses and cross country riding skills at a slower pace to join us for 'Roading' prior to the start of our hunting season. Please see the Roading Schedule above for dates and times, and contact the Honorary Secretary prior to the days you wish to attend.
Capping
The best way to learn about foxhunting and get to know Windy Hollow Hunt is to 'cap,' or hunt for a daily fee during our hunting season. If you are not a riding member of the Hunt, but would like to join us for a day out in the field, you may cap during our Summer Training and Formal seasons. See our fixture cards for scheduled meets above. Please contact the Honorary Secretary prior to the meet you wish to attend.
Guests may cap three times in total before being recommended for membership by a hunt member. If your recommendation is approved by the Hunt's Board of Directors, you will be invited to purchase a class of membership.

Capping Protocol
Make sure you reconfirm the time and place of the meet as sometimes changes or cancellations are made at the last minute. Please arrange to arrive one-half hour before the scheduled time. Bring a current Coggins with you. Upon arrival, find the Field Secretary, present your Coggins, sign the required release form and pay the capping fee in cash or check. Continue on to introduce yourself to the Masters.
